Terms of service

Last updated: [[DATE]]

These terms are the agreement between you and [[COMPANY NAME]], [[company number]], [[registered address]] ("we", "us") for using FleetRight. Please read them. By creating an account you agree to them.

1. What FleetRight is, and what it is not

FleetRight is a record-keeping and reminder tool for boat maintenance, checks, defects and documents. It does not inspect, survey or certify your vessel. A checklist showing as complete, a reminder not appearing, or a date being right does not mean a vessel is safe, seaworthy or compliant with the law.

You stay responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of your vessel: follow the manufacturer's instructions and the rules that apply to you (for example your insurer, flag state, charter operator or training organisation), and use qualified professionals where needed. Checklists you build or generate from your own documents should be checked by you before you rely on them.

2. Your account

3. Plans and payment

If you are a consumer: your 14-day right to cancel

If you are buying as an individual (not for a business), you may cancel within 14 days of subscribing and get a refund. If you asked us to start the service straight away, which you do when you subscribe, you must pay for the days you used before cancelling, and we refund the rest. We will ask you to confirm this when you subscribe. This does not affect your other legal rights.

4. If you downgrade or cancel

When your plan changes, the limits of the new plan apply. If you have more vessels than your new plan allows, your oldest vessels stay fully usable and the rest become read-only (you can still see, export and delete them) until you upgrade or remove some. We never delete your data just because you cancelled.

5. Your data

6. Using the service properly

Do not try to break, overload or get around the security of the service, access other people's data, resell access, or use it to break the law. We can suspend an account that does, and will normally warn you first unless there is a risk to others.

7. Availability and backups

We work hard to keep FleetRight running and make encrypted backups every night, but we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free, and planned maintenance may cause short interruptions. Keep your own copy of anything critical: the export option is there for that.

8. Our responsibility to you

9. Ending the agreement

You can close your account at any time (Vessel profile, then Danger zone). We may close an account for serious or repeated breaches of these terms, or if we stop offering the service, giving you reasonable notice and the chance to export your data wherever we can.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change matters to you, we will give at least 30 days' notice in the app or by email before it applies, and you can cancel if you do not agree.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring a claim in your local courts. If something goes wrong, please contact support@fleet-right.co.uk first and we will try to put it right.
